Taipei City Waterbird Refuge

:::

Information

Area( hectare ) 245
Simple Description Lying just north of Taipei, this Refuge provides room during autumn and winter for the first stop along the southern migratory routes.

The refuge is located between Yungfu Bridge and Chungshing Bridge. Situated near the outlet and deposited with silt from the slow current of tide, the refuge is a vast sandbank wetland and offers a ideal habitat for waterfowl. As the only refuge located in the metropolitan area, it is found with migratory birds of family hirrundinidae and family ardeidae, and over thousands green-winged teals. Taipei City Government has designed duck-watching path and information booths in Hwachiang Nature Park, and held large bird watching events inviting narrators from Wild Bird Society of Taipei during migration season.
