- Founding Goal
Establish a harmonious relationship between humans and monkeys, and create a quality space for promoting environment education.
- Characteristics
There are many different plants in the ecocenter, such as the lush arbors and ferns. The area’s mild climate has attracted many wild animals, most notably the Formosan Rock Macaque. In order to promote correct ecological concepts to citizens, we have built this first-ever ecocenter that focuses on the Formosan Rock Macaque ecosystem within the former Macaque monitoring station.
Ershui Formosan Rock Macaque Ecocenter’s main goal is to provide a quality space for holding educational and recreational events on natural ecosystem. We have integrated perspectives on nature preservation, local culture and history, and industrial revitalization into our work. We contribute to the town’s development with local groups, and fully bring into play the functions of ecological education. Currently, we are one of the must-visits in Ershui Township, Changhua County.
- Area intro
We created an exhibition space that emulates the Formosan Rock Macaque ecosystem. Other than the basic forest and Formosan Rock Macaque models, we have even designed interactive ecological installations. Through simple interactive games and guided tours by volunteers, we help people to know more about the living environment of Formosan Rock Macaque. There is a butterfly viewing trail that is well surrounded by nectar plants and herbivorous wildlife, as well as a forest classroom that allows visitors to immerse in the woods. We take pride in the diverse ecological habitats we conserve and our environmental education and recreational spaces.
